Kutinya Arts develops structured international programmes through which learners, educators, musicians, and cultural institutions encounter Zimbabwean marimba music in educational and performance settings.

Each programme is designed around the educational character, age composition, artistic capacity, and cultural objectives of the participating institution.

Kutinya Arts develops structured international programmes through which learners, educators, musicians, and cultural institutions encounter Zimbabwean marimba music in educational and performance settings.

Our programmes unite marimba performance, music education, cultural exchange, institutional engagement, and carefully selected learning activities. Each programme is designed around the educational character, age composition, artistic capacity, and cultural objectives of the participating institution.

International Cultural Learning Through Music

Kutinya Arts programmes place music, cultural representation, education, and international engagement within one structured experience.

Participants perform before international audiences, engage with musicians and educators, visit schools and cultural institutions, and encounter different approaches to music education and artistic expression. Selected visits to places of historical, scientific, industrial, and artistic importance extend learning beyond performance and connect cultural participation with intellectual development.

Throughout the programme, participants represent their institutions and Zimbabwe through musical excellence, disciplined conduct, informed communication, and meaningful cultural engagement.

The experience develops the whole participant. Musical competence is strengthened alongside confidence, cultural intelligence, personal responsibility, adaptability, discipline, and the ability to function constructively within an international group.

Our International Experience

Kutinya Arts has conducted 29 international cultural and educational programmes involving schools, learners, teachers, musicians, host families, churches, music schools, and cultural organisations. Programmes have included engagements in Germany, France, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, South Africa, and other international settings. These engagements have placed Zimbabwean marimba music before diverse audiences while giving participants direct access to unfamiliar cultural, educational, and institutional environments.

Each programme is developed through advance planning, institutional communication, participant preparation, logistical coordination, and clearly defined programme responsibilities.

​Programmes Originating in Zimbabwe
Our outward programmes enable learners and educators from Zimbabwe to participate in structured cultural and educational engagements outside the country.
Depending on the purpose of the programme, participants may undertake:

• Marimba and vocal performances

• Zimbabwean traditional dance presentations

• Workshops with musicians and music educators

• Visits to schools, universities, music institutions, churches, and cultural organisations

• Educational visits connected with history, science, industry, architecture, and the arts

• Cultural interaction with host communities and participating institutions

• Guided reflection on international learning and cultural representation

Performance is central, but it is not the only purpose. Participants are expected to understand the cultural meaning of the work they present, communicate appropriately with their hosts, and conduct themselves as representatives of their schools, families, organisation, and country.

Hosting Kutinya Arts brings Zimbabwean musicians, young cultural representatives, marimba performance, traditional dance, singing, rhythm, and cultural knowledge directly into your institution. Zimbabwe consequently ceases to be a distant subject for your learners and community. It becomes a living cultural encounter experienced through sound, movement, conversation, performance, and shared artistic participation.
